Woman beater declares ‘I’d do it again’ after being jailed for brutal assault

A Pennsylvania man convicted of brutally assaulting two women sparked outrage after declaring he would repeat the attack moments after being sentenced to prison.

Kharee Nazir Davis, 19, was escorted from a Montgomery County courtroom in handcuffs after receiving a prison sentence of three to six years for his role in the assault, which occurred during a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Conshohocken in March 2025.

As sheriff’s deputies led him away, Davis was asked about his sentence.

“Yeah, it’s bull****, and I’d do what I did again,” he replied.

The remark, captured on video by court reporter Carl Hessler Jr., quickly circulated on social media, with many users suggesting it would do little to help any future parole application.

Davis had pleaded guilty to two felony counts of aggravated assault and three misdemeanour counts of corruption of minors. In addition to his prison sentence, he was ordered to pay $3,554 in restitution.

According to prosecutors, Davis launched an unprovoked attack on two women who were attending the parade.

Assistant District Attorney Sawyer Branigan Kline said the victims had simply been celebrating when they were approached and assaulted.

“What was borne out by the evidence was that there was an unprovoked attack on our two victims that included stomping, kicking and punching, leaving them lying in the street until emergency responders arrived,” Kline said.

Authorities also noted that several children were standing nearby during the assault.

“There were multiple punches thrown by the defendant, and there were minor children of varying ages within arm’s reach of this attack,” Kline added. “Not only did they witness a brutal assault, but they also could have been injured.”

Three minors — a 16-year-old and two 10-year-olds — were also taken into custody following the incident, with their cases handled in juvenile court.

During sentencing, Davis acknowledged that his actions were wrong but claimed he reacted after the women confronted his younger brother. Prosecutors rejected that explanation, saying investigators found no evidence to support claims that the victims provoked the attack.

“There has been no evidence of substance that would indicate this assault was provoked by the victims,” Kline said.

Defence attorney Michael Anthony Walker argued that Davis believed he had a reason for his actions, but admitted the evidence did not support that belief.

“I think, in his mind, he had a reason to react the way he did,” Walker said. “The facts said otherwise. He accepted what I believe was a reasonable plea offer considering the evidence. He could have faced a much longer sentence.”

The assault left both women with serious injuries, including facial trauma, bruising and a concussion. One victim told investigators she was unable to open either eye for several days because of severe swelling and required treatment from an eye specialist.

Davis’s mother, Demetria F. Miller, 36, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and corruption of minors in connection with the same incident. She is scheduled to be sentenced on August 10.
