Russia has warned Britain of unspecified consequences following reports that British-made drones were used by Ukraine in long-range strikes inside Russian territory.
The warning was issued by the Russian Embassy in London, which accused Britain of becoming increasingly involved in the war by providing military equipment to Ukraine.
The embassy said that the deeper Britain’s involvement in the conflict becomes, the greater the consequences it could face. The statement followed a report by The Times claiming that British-manufactured drones had been used in long-range attacks against targets inside Russia.
Ukraine has increasingly used long-range drones to strike Russian oil refineries, logistics facilities and other military-related infrastructure far from the front line. Moscow has repeatedly condemned such attacks.
Britain maintains support for Ukraine
Britain’s Ministry of Defence did not confirm whether British-supplied drones were involved in the reported strikes. However, it reaffirmed London’s commitment to supporting Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.
Britain announced in June that it planned to provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of a £752 million military support package.
Russia has repeatedly warned Britain and other Western countries that their military assistance to Ukraine could have consequences and risk a wider confrontation.
The latest warning reflects the continuing escalation in tensions between Moscow and London, as Western military support for Ukraine expands and Kyiv conducts increasingly long-range attacks against targets inside Russia.
