Applicants who took part in the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for Nigeria’s four major paramilitary agencies have moved to the next stage of the process. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announced that candidates who participated in the Computer-Based Test conducted in November 2025 should now check whether they have been shortlisted for physical screening and document verification.
According to a statement signed by the board’s Secretary, Maj Gen Abdulmalik Jibril (retd.), shortlisted applicants are required to visit the official recruitment portal to confirm their status. Applicants should log in using the Application Number generated during their initial registration.
Those who are shortlisted will be required to upload their credentials and select a preferred date and venue for the physical screening. Recruitment Process Is Completely Free The CDCFIB has warned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters who may claim to have connections within the recruitment process. The board stressed that the recruitment exercise is completely free and applicants should not pay anyone for shortlisting, venue allocation, document uploads, access to screening centres or final selection.
Applicants were also advised to ignore fake recruitment messages, fraudulent links and individuals or organisations falsely claiming to represent the board. The board said it remains committed to conducting the recruitment exercise transparently and on the basis of merit, federal character, due process and existing recruitment rules. Four Agencies Involved The recruitment exercise covers: Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)Federal Fire Service (FFS)The recruitment exercise began with online applications in July 2025, followed by the Computer-Based Test in November 2025.
The process has taken longer than many applicants expected, with candidates waiting for the final stages to be completed. The CDCFIB had previously said the exercise was approaching its final stage and would be completed within four weeks. The board also maintained that it would not rush the recruitment process at the expense of justice, merit, federal character and due process.
Applicants are therefore advised to rely only on official information from the CDCFIB and its recruitment portal and to remain cautious of anyone demanding payment in exchange for recruitment assistance.
