Nollywood filmmaker and actor Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele d’Icon, has celebrated a new milestone after his movie series, Koleoso, amassed 141.6 million combined views on YouTube across its 13 parts.
Yekini announced the feat in a statement on Tuesday, describing Koleoso as the most-viewed African movie title on YouTube.
According to the filmmaker, the series has garnered more than 140 million views across Parts 1 to 13 and continues to attract audiences on the platform.
Figures released by Yekini showed that Part 1 recorded 9.8 million views, Part 2 had 9.9 million, Part 3 recorded 8.9 million, while Parts 4 and 5 each garnered 10 million views.
Parts 6, 7 and 8 recorded 12 million views each, while Part 9 had 13 million views. Part 10 emerged as the most-watched instalment with 16 million views, followed by Part 11 with 9.9 million, Part 12 with 9.4 million and Part 13 with 8.7 million views.
Celebrating the achievement, Yekini dedicated the milestone to his fans, cast and crew, describing it as a major victory for Nollywood and Africa.
“Let me take my flowers. This is a win for Nollywood and a source of pride for Africa,” he said.
The actor also applauded members of the Koleoso cast and crew for their contributions to the project’s success, while thanking fans for watching, sharing and supporting the series.
He said the milestone was the result of a collective effort, adding that the team had “dreamed it, created it” and, with the support of viewers, “made history.”
The film had earlier crossed the 100 million cumulative-view mark in 2026, becoming the first Nollywood and African movie title to achieve the feat across multiple instalments on a single YouTube channel.
Koleoso, which combines Yoruba cultural elements, supernatural themes and family drama, has attracted viewers in Nigeria and among audiences in the African diaspora since its release on the IteleDIconStudio YouTube channel.
With the series now exceeding 141 million views, Yekini described the achievement as a collective triumph for the cast, crew, fans, Nollywood and the wider African film industry.
