Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has spoken about the reason behind his breakup with his former girlfriend, describing the relationship as emotionally demanding despite its good moments.
The singer made the revelation during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, where he reflected on his past romantic experience.According to Rema, the relationship was enjoyable and filled with memorable moments, but it also came with challenges that eventually became difficult for him to handle.
He explained that the pressures of his career often left him looking forward to finding peace and comfort at home. However, he said the situation was different in the relationship, as he frequently encountered additional stress instead of relief.
“My romantic relationship was beautiful but quite manipulative. There was so much pressure. The world already puts a lot of pressure on me, and home is supposed to be where you feel relieved. But when you come back home and meet even more pressure, it’s a different story,” he said.
The award-winning artiste added that he eventually decided to walk away from the relationship when he could no longer cope with the situation.
“For now, I’m done,” he stated.Rema did not disclose the identity of his former partner or provide further details about the relationship.
