President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja following the Eid-el-Kabir holiday, during which he participated in a series of political, diplomatic and official engagements in Lagos.According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 5:17 p.m. on Tuesday.
He was received by several top government officials, including Nyesom Wike, Femi Gbajabiamila, Nuhu Ribadu and Tunji Disu.During the Sallah celebrations, the President hosted a number of political leaders and dignitaries, including Vice-President Kashim Shettima, who paid him the traditional Eid-el-Kabir homage.Tinubu also received the leadership of the Senate led by Godswill Akpabio, as well as members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum headed by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Other visitors included stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Oyo State, led by Sharafadeen Alli, and party candidates from Lagos State.
As part of his engagements, the President attended the 70th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Navy at Eko Atlantic City, where he commissioned three naval vessels—NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara.
The President said the new vessels would strengthen maritime security and support efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial waters.Tinubu also held talks with Romuald Wadagni, with both leaders discussing areas of mutual interest and regional cooperation between Nigeria and the neighbouring West African nation.
The statement further noted that before the holiday period, the President participated in APC primary activities in Lagos and received the party’s endorsement ahead of preparations for the 2027 general election.
President Tinubu has since resumed official duties in Abuja following the conclusion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
