UK Court Jails Nigerian Born Serial Sex Offender for Almost Nine Years

A serial sex offender has been jailed for almost nine years after a Metropolitan Police intelligence led operation helped identify him as a high-risk predator targeting women in London.

Victor Komolafe, aged 35, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to eight years and eleven months after being found guilty earlier this year of four serious sexual offences including attempted rape, sexual assault and two counts of assault by penetration involving two women who did not know each other.

The case was built through the Met Police V100 programme, an initiative that identifies the one hundred most dangerous offenders posing the highest risk to women and girls in London.

Officers then prioritise surveillance and enforcement action to remove them from the streets using tactics inspired by counter terrorism style policing.

Komolafe was first arrested in August 2023 but denied all allegations, claiming the encounters were consensual. A second victim came forward the following month describing a similar pattern of abuse, prompting further investigation.

Police said Komolafe used false identities including Ghost and Xavier and deliberately withheld personal details to mislead victims. Forensic analysis later linked him directly to the offences, including the discovery of his DNA on clothing belonging to one of the complainants after he had denied any assault.

One victim described being deprived of food and water during the attacks in order to weaken her ability to resist, and said the abuse took place inside a car belonging to Komolafe’s partner.

The Metropolitan Police said his methods showed a calculated effort to exploit trust and vulnerability, while investigators praised the courage of both women for coming forward and supporting the prosecution.

The second victim urged others affected to speak out, saying offenders should not be allowed to escape accountability and encouraging survivors of sexual abuse to report what happened even if they feel uncertain.

Komolafe will remain on the sex offenders register for life and is subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The V100 programme has now secured more than two hundred convictions since its launch in 2023, according to police figures.
