FCT Begins 30-Day Project Commissioning With Outer Southern Expressway Completion

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has commenced a 30-day programme of project commissioning activities, beginning today, as part of ongoing infrastructure development efforts under the Renewed Hope administration.

A key highlight of the programme is the commissioning of the newly completed two main carriageways of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), stretching from the Ring Road 1 Junction (Gudu Cemetery axis) to the Ring Road II Junction (Kabusha Junction).

According to the announcement, the project will be officially commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.

The OSEX corridor is expected to improve traffic flow within the Abuja metropolitan area, ease congestion on major routes, and enhance connectivity between key districts in the capital city.

The commissioning marks the beginning of a broader schedule of infrastructure inaugurations planned across the FCT over the 30-day period, covering road networks and other development projects.

Authorities say the programme reflects ongoing efforts to expand urban infrastructure, improve transportation efficiency, and support economic activity within the capital territory.
