Nigerian music star Burna Boy and American entertainment personality DJ Khaled have been unveiled as ambassadors for SportyBet’s inaugural Crash Games World Championship.
SportyBet announced the international competition in a statement on Wednesday, September 16, saying it would bring together players from participating markets across six Crash Games.
Other personalities associated with the championship include Ivorian footballer Yan Diomande, South African rugby star Cheslin Kolbe and former South African footballer Benni McCarthy.
According to the company, each ambassador will be associated with one of the games featured in the championship, while a sixth ambassador is expected to be announced before the tournament begins.
Burna Boy’s participation gives the competition a Nigerian connection, with players from different SportyBet markets expected to compete for the global title.
DJ Khaled, who serves as a Sporty Group Global Ambassador, said he was looking forward to participating in the competition.
“SportyBet is bringing players from around the world together for something big, and I’m coming to compete at the highest level. Six games, some serious energy and one World Championship. Let’s make history!” he said.
Players will compete for the title of CGWC World Champion, with qualifying participants also set to compete for exclusive and limited-edition prizes.
The championship will combine SportyBet’s Crash Games portfolio with the involvement of its international ambassadors, while players’ performances will be reflected on a global leaderboard throughout the competition.
Further details, including the participation requirements, prizes and the identity of the sixth ambassador, are expected to be announced ahead of the tournament.
Teasing the forthcoming announcement, DJ Khaled said, “You haven’t seen anything yet. There are surprises coming, there’s another big name to reveal, and when the Championship gets going, I want everyone to be ready.”
The competition will mark SportyBet’s first global Crash Games championship, with the company saying preparations and the countdown to the tournament are underway.
