Temi Nkem has emerged winner of the 11th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), becoming the fifth female housemate to win the reality television show.
Nkem clinched the title after 10 weeks of intense competition, securing 25.87 per cent of the total votes cast by viewers across Nigeria and other African countries.
Aikou and Sheba finished as the first and second runners-up respectively, although their voting percentages were not disclosed in the statement.
As the Season 11 winner, Nkem will receive N90 million in cash and a brand-new SUV. The cash prize was drawn from the original N100 million prize package, with N10 million allocated to the Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW) prize fund.
The season featured 24 housemates who competed in weekly tasks, Head of House challenges, nominations and several twists, including the Gambit play and changes to Head of House veto powers.
The season also recorded two disqualifications and a voluntary exit, making it the first season in the show’s history to witness all three forms of departure.
Commenting on the conclusion of the season, Atinuke Babatunde, Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice Nigeria, described the season as another exciting chapter for the franchise.
“Season 11 has been another exciting chapter for Big Brother Naija. We saw 24 housemates bring their personalities, perspectives and individual approaches to the game, and we are pleased to have shared their journey with our viewers,” she said.
Babatunde thanked viewers who watched, voted and participated in conversations around the show, as well as its sponsors and partners for their continued support.
BBNaija remains one of Africa’s prominent reality television franchises, having provided a platform for personalities who have gone on to establish careers in entertainment, media, fashion, music, film and other creative industries.
