Breaking: Adelabu’s Sister and Her Twin Sons Abducted in Ibadan

The family of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has confirmed the abduction of his younger sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin sons in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to a statement released by the family on Wednesday, Mrs. John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin boys, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped by armed men at about 7:30 a.m. while she was taking the children to school.

The family disclosed that the incident was promptly reported to relevant security and law enforcement agencies, which have since launched investigations and rescue operations.

Mrs. John-Paul, 43, is the youngest of five children of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu. The family noted that she recently retired after working with the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian.

She had reportedly relocated to Ibadan with her children and was making preparations to join her husband in the United States before the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to the statement, security agencies have already begun efforts to secure the safe release of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Chief Adelabu and other members of the family expressed deep concern over the abduction but said they remain hopeful and confident that security operatives will successfully rescue the victims.

The family also appealed to members of the public to remain calm, avoid spreading rumours, and refrain from sharing unverified information that could hinder ongoing investigations and rescue efforts.

They further urged anyone with credible information that could assist security agencies in locating the victims to report such information through the appropriate channels.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
