ESDIAC Global Systems Limited is set to expand its presence in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry after securing a licence to provide data and international connectivity services to consumers and businesses.
The licence will enable the Nigerian technology company to offer cross-border data solutions, international connectivity, data top-ups and global eSIM services through retail and merchant networks.
The company’s Chief Executive, Austin Ugbebor, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Lokoja, describing the licence as a significant step towards expanding affordable communication services in Nigeria.
Founded by Nigerian-born entrepreneur Ugbebor, ESDIAC focuses on addressing the high cost and limited accessibility of international communication among diaspora communities and globally connected consumers.
The company said its existing services, which include international calling platforms, Wi-Fi connectivity solutions and partnerships with mobile network operators, serve tens of thousands of users worldwide.
With the new licence, ESDIAC said it would be better positioned to participate directly in Nigeria’s domestic data market while strengthening its international operations.
The company also identified underserved communities, Nigerian businesses and Nigerians living abroad as key beneficiaries of its expansion plans.
“Our purpose is to connect people, opportunity and markets. This licence allows us to deepen our contribution to Nigeria’s digital transformation while building a more inclusive communications ecosystem for the future,” Ugbebor said.
ESDIAC commended President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government for policies aimed at liberalising the telecommunications sector and expanding opportunities for indigenous technology companies.
It specifically cited reforms in the airtime credit and data advance sector, saying the measures were creating opportunities for local businesses to compete in the evolving digital economy.
“We commend President Tinubu for his vision and determination to create a more open and competitive communications industry.
“These reforms send a powerful message that Nigerian companies can build world-class technology solutions, compete globally and create lasting value at home,” Ugbebor said.
The company said its expansion into Nigeria’s domestic data market aligns with its broader objective of making communication services more affordable and accessible to individuals, families and businesses across borders.
ESDIAC, a Nigerian technology company specialising in telecommunications and data-driven solutions, operates across more than 150 countries and 400 cities worldwide, serving both business and consumer customers.
