A man has died after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, northern England, in a tragic incident that prompted the evacuation of the attraction and an emergency response involving several medical teams.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed that the incident occurred at about 1.35pm on Saturday, October 10, after officers received reports that the man had entered the enclosure and was subsequently attacked by the animal.
Despite efforts by emergency personnel to save his life, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity and age had not been publicly disclosed at the time of reporting.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said the tiger was uninjured and remained inside its enclosure. Officers also assured the public that there was no wider risk to visitors or the surrounding community.
The park was evacuated following the attack, with police remaining at the scene to conduct enquiries. Yorkshire Wildlife Park subsequently announced that it would remain closed on Sunday as authorities investigated the tragedy.
A spokesperson for the attraction expressed sorrow over the death, extending heartfelt sympathies to the victim’s family and loved ones.
The management said its emergency response procedures had been activated immediately and confirmed that it was cooperating with the police and other relevant authorities to determine what happened.
The incident has also drawn attention to distressing videos circulating online. Police urged members of the public not to share the footage, appealing for sensitivity towards the bereaved family during an exceptionally difficult period.
