Students in Paris staged a fresh demonstration outside the Louvre Museum on Monday, blocking access to the attraction in support of a high school student movement following a weekend of violent protests across France.
The protesters gathered at the museum entrance, where they played music, sang songs and chanted slogans in support of the student movement.
Their demonstration disrupted access to the building, forcing visitors to wait before entering the museum.
The students also distributed leaflets explaining the reasons for their protest and engaged passers-by in discussions about their demands.
The demonstrations, which began in France in late September, have been driven by concerns over teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms and demanding school timetables.
Monday’s action marked another round of protests as students continued to draw attention to what they described as challenges affecting the country’s education system.
