The first official teaser for Children of Blood and Bone has offered audiences a glimpse of Nigerian singer Ayra Starr’s Hollywood acting debut, ahead of the fantasy film’s release in January 2027.
The Ayra Starr Children of Blood and Bone teaser arrived ahead of the film’s official trailer.The preview features Ayra Starr alongside an international cast that includes Idris Elba, Damson Idris, Viola Davis, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Tosin Cole, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Thuso Mbedu.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Children of Blood and Bone is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical and IMAX release on January 15, 2027. What the Teaser Shows The teaser includes behind-the-scenes footage from the production, showing cast and crew at work while offering the first look at Ayra Starr in costume for her debut acting role. The preview also features Nigerian singer Tems’ hit song “Me & U” as part of its soundtrack.
The Story Behind the FilmChildren of Blood and Bone is adapted from Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi’s 2018 novel, the first book in the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy. The story follows Zélie Adebola, a young woman determined to restore magic to the kingdom of Orïsha after a ruling monarchy wiped it out.

You know, I’m used to being a singer and diva on set, but this one with the movie is like, it’s not about you.
