Dangote Refinery IPO: Investors Will Enjoy Long-Term Value, Devakumar Assures

The Vice President, Oil and Gas, Dangote Industries Limited, Edwin Devakumar, has assured prospective investors in the ongoing Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery that the investment presents an opportunity to participate in one of Africa’s largest and most strategic industrial ventures.

Devakumar said the refinery’s strong operational performance, expanding market share, robust demand outlook and strategic position within Africa’s energy value chain provide a solid foundation for long-term value creation.

He disclosed that the refinery had commenced profit-making, stressing that the facility was established to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products, strengthen energy security and conserve foreign exchange.

According to him, the refinery is also positioned to create employment and transform Nigeria into a major exporter of petroleum products to regional and international markets.

“The Dangote Refinery is one of the most significant industrial investments ever undertaken on the African continent. It addresses a critical gap in the energy sector while creating substantial economic value.

“Those investing in the refinery’s ongoing IPO are investing in a business with strong fundamentals, enormous growth potential, and a proven capacity to generate sustainable returns,” Devakumar said.

He explained that the IPO was not solely designed to raise capital but also to broaden ownership of the strategic asset by giving Nigerians and investors around the world an opportunity to participate in the refinery’s growth.

“The objective is not merely to raise capital. It is to democratise ownership of a strategic national asset and allow millions of Nigerians and global investors to participate in the value being created by the refinery.

“We believe this is an opportunity for investors to become partners in Africa’s industrial transformation story,” he said.

Devakumar said proceeds from the offering would support the refinery’s long-term growth plans, operational optimisation, expansion projects, working capital requirements and strategic investments across the petroleum value chain.

He identified the refinery’s integrated business model, advanced technology, large-scale production capacity, deep-water port infrastructure and extensive logistics network as key competitive advantages.

“The refinery is strategically positioned to serve domestic, regional and international markets. Demand for refined petroleum products across Africa continues to grow, and our scale, efficiency and location provide a unique advantage in capturing these opportunities.

“This translates directly into long-term value creation for shareholders,” he stated.

Devakumar added that the refinery’s ability to process different grades of crude oil and produce petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, liquefied petroleum gas and petrochemical feedstocks had created multiple revenue streams capable of strengthening its earnings potential.

He also assured investors that the company remained committed to corporate governance, transparency, financial discipline, environmental responsibility and operational excellence.

He said the company’s accountability and transparency would be further strengthened following the conclusion of the IPO and listing of its shares.

“Investors will benefit from regular financial disclosures, strict governance standards, and a management team focused on driving sustainable growth and profitability,” he said.

Devakumar expressed confidence that the refinery’s future earnings potential, growing export footprint and strategic role in Africa’s energy security would continue to attract investor interest.

“This IPO represents more than an investment opportunity; it is an invitation to participate in a historic enterprise that is redefining the African energy landscape,” he said.

“We are confident that investors who subscribe to the offer will be well-positioned to reap bountiful returns as the refinery continues its growth journey and delivers value to shareholders,” he added.
