Oil prices rose for a fourth consecutive day as the United States and Iran continued exchanging attacks.
The US said it had completed a “90-minute wave” of strikes aimed at degrading Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the region.
Iran, in turn, said it had targeted American facilities in Jordan. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of Iran’s parliament, said his country’s security depended on maintaining what he called “Iranian arrangements” in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route.
