A Malaysian woman who donated her organs and tissues after her death has been widely praised online, with her story helping to renew conversations about organ donation in the Muslim-majority nation.
Normah Sabar, widely recognised as Malaysia’s first female surveyor, died at Hospital Sungai Buloh on Saturday at the age of 72.
Before doctors carried out the organ retrieval procedure, hospital staff and medical teams held a “walk of honour” in her memory.
