The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will hear Senegal’s appeal against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decision to award Morocco a 3-0 victory in the disputed 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.
The hearing is scheduled for October 8 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Senegalese Football Federation is challenging CAF’s decision to declare Senegal the loser by forfeit following events during the final in Rabat on January 18.
The match was interrupted for more than 15 minutes after Morocco were awarded a penalty, with Senegal’s players leaving the pitch before eventually returning to continue the game.
Senegal subsequently won the match 1-0 after extra time. However, CAF later overturned the result following a complaint by Morocco and awarded the hosts a 3-0 victory.
The CAS hearing will be conducted behind closed doors and in French.
A three-member panel, chaired by French lawyer Gérald Simon, will consider the case.
The tribunal’s decision will determine whether CAF’s ruling remains in force or is overturned.
