Veteran Nigerian actor Olu Jacobs has been laid to rest in Lagos, with family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries gathering to honour the late Nollywood icon.
The funeral service was held on Friday at This Present House Church in Lekki, Lagos, drawing prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry and other sectors who came to pay their final respects.
Among those who paid tribute was entertainment entrepreneur Darey Art Alade, who performed his hit song Pray For Me, which features Olu Jacobs and his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva.
Jacobs’ son, Olugbenga Jacobs, also presented a biography of his father during the funeral proceedings.
The burial followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall on Lagos Island, where Nollywood actors, industry colleagues, friends and well-wishers celebrated the life and career of the veteran actor.
Jacobs, regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected actors, died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
